Stop by on Saturday between 1 and 5 at the Warren School, the open house is free, the workshop is $8 per person. All proceeds go to the Warren After School Program.

It's Gingerbread time again!
Come join in the fun! Make a Gingerbread House for the competition! The 7th annual Warren Gingerbread Contest, sponsored by the Warren After School program (WASP) will take place December 11-14 at the Warren Town Hall. Ashley Woods, co-director of WASP and founder of the event says, "The contest is a way to channel peoples' creativity in an unusual and fun medium. Year after year we're blown away with what is designed, decorated, and brought to life in gingerbread." Each year nearly 70 structures are entered by local kids, adults, and families. Entries are judged in a variety of categories including but not limited to: replica, architectural ingenuity, adult, kid(8 and under), big kid (9 to 16), team and family, Best in Show, and the Peoples' Choice. It is not unusual to see famous New England buildings, mythical places, historic images, and the most imaginative of inventions-all rendered in gingerbread and candy. Some such examples from past years are Fenway ball park, the Round Barn, Santa's Workshop, Noah's Ark, and "On the Fifth Day of Christmas 5 Snowmen Went to Jail." To discover the art and architecture behind this magical process come join in the fun. Workshops and technical support are available and there is still plenty of time to get involved. This event is a fundraiser for the Warren After School Program.
